Speed + Agility

In sport a fraction of a second can separate success from failure. Developing a proper speed & agility program that is specific to the athlete’s sport will aid in the athletes success. A solid foundation of linear and lateral mechanics helps make this possible.

Linear Mechanics

Proper mechanics allow the athlete to move more efficiently ensuring that all their energy is channeled in the right direction.

Linear mechanics can be broken down into 3 areas:
– Posture
– Arm Action
– Leg Action

Linear Drills

These drills focus on developing the athlete’s straight ahead speed.  Select drills that are most applicable to the sport of the athlete. 

Lateral Mechanics

Proper mechanics allow the athlete to move more efficiently ensuring that all their energy is channeled in the right direction.

Lateral mechanics can be broken down into 3 areas:
– Push
– Athletic Base
– Low Center of Gravity

Lateral Drills

These drills focus on developing the athlete’s ability to change direction.  Select drills that are most applicable to the sport of the athlete.
